Legends for Learners: Empowering Education, One Swing at a Time

The Educational Partnership Foundation (TEPF) is gearing up for the highly anticipated 23rd Annual Legends for Learners charity golf tournament to be held on August 12, 2024. This renowned tournament, hosted by TEPF, is not just a day of swinging clubs and sinking putts. It’s an opportunity to help raise essential funds to support educational programs that directly benefit over 766,000 youth across Alberta each year.

A Legacy of Impact

Since its inception 23 years ago, Legends for Learners has become an integral part of our mission. This incredible event brings together golf enthusiasts, community leaders, and education supporters for a day of friendly competition and philanthropy. Golfers from all skill levels can participate in a round of golf at the picturesque Valley Ridge Golf Course. The tournament features a shotgun start, ensuring every golfer can enjoy the stunning course while supporting a worthy cause.

“Legends for Learners is a testament to the collective power of our community. By coming together and supporting this event, we are empowering education and opening doors to a brighter future for students,” said Barb Simic, TEPF’s President and CEO. “Each swing of a golf club represents hope, opportunity, and the belief that every child deserves access to quality education.”

Over the years, Legends for Learners has grown in reputation and impact, attracting “Legends” such as CFL, NHL players and alumni, Canadian Olympians and Celebrities, as well as local organizations passionate about education and believing in the power of collaboration to transform lives. While the Legends are still firming up for this year, TEPF has confirmed the highly anticipated VIP event will feature hockey great Marty McSorely and Rob Riggle.

The event has become not only a fundraising platform but also a showcase of TEPF’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for students across western Canada.

The funds raised through this event play a pivotal role in providing essential resources, innovative programs, and impactful initiatives that directly benefit students in Alberta.

“I have been managing the Legends for Learners tournament for several years now, and it never fails to inspire me,” said Shelley Forbes, TEPF’s Manager, Events & Literacy Programs. “The impact that TEPF has on students across Alberta is immeasurable, and I am proud to be a part of an event that makes such a difference.”
