IRONWORDER TRADES
Ironworkers are fearless and skilled professionals who specialize in working with structural iron and steel. Their primary role is to construct and erect iron and steel frameworks, often found in buildings, bridges, and other large-scale structures. With their expertise in welding, rigging, and bolting, ironworkers play a crucial role in creating the strong and sturdy skeletons of our modern infrastructure.
They start by studying blueprints and plans to determine the precise placement and positioning of steel structures. With their keen eye for detail and precision, they measure, cut, and shape steel components to fit perfectly into the overall framework. Armed with welding torches and other tools, they skillfully fuse steel beams and columns together, ensuring strength and stability.

There are two main avenues for Ironworkers: Structural and Reinforcing. Structural Ironworkers hoist and maneuver heavy steel pieces. Structural ironworkers need strength, determination and a good attitude. They often work in high places, balancing on huge steel beams while bolting them together. They hoist, fasten, cut, bend, weld and erect components for giant storage tanks, towers and other oil and gas structures. They assemble columns, beams and girders before they are bolted or welded permanently into place. Reinforcing Ironworkers cut, bend, lay out, install and weld rebar and wire fabric into complex geometric shapes that increase the tension and reinforce structures. They make sure that large buildings, heavy tanks and structures throughout a facility are stable and will not sink into the ground.
Ironworkers are exceptional problem solvers, often faced with challenges such as working in confined spaces or on complex projects with unique architectural requirements. They adeptly find solutions to ensure proper alignment and alignment of steel components, even when faced with uneven terrain or unconventional angles. Additionally, they troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise during construction, ensuring that the final structure meets all safety and quality standards.
Ironworkers need strength, determination and a good attitude. They need a deep understanding of construction principles, welding techniques, and blueprint reading to accurately interpret design specifications. Communication and teamwork skills are also essential, as ironworkers often collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of steel structures within the larger project.
