TEPF was established 30 years ago to give children access to literacy programs to solve a growing problem. In recent years, TEPF’s mandate has further expanded to help address the challenge of a skilled trades shortage, providing careers training to high school students, young adults, and Indigenous youth.
This program expansion has also necessitated a fundamental change to our brand.
“The time has come for TEPF’s brand to mature in parallel with our evolution,” said Barb Simic, TEPF’s President and CEO. “TEPF’s initial visual identity, with its playful and childlike colour palette, was designed to resonate with elementary school teachers, our original target audience. However, as our programs expanded to encompass a more mature audience, including high school students and young adults, we realised that our brand needed to reflect our increased maturity, professionalism, and impact.”
As you scroll through our new website or see our new materials, you’ll still see a nod to our original brand. We wanted to ensure that it would continue to appeal to literacy program audiences and elementary school teachers while also capturing the attention of a broader, more mature demographic. Ultimately we want learners to be empowered by choices, hopeful for the future, inspired to be their best and confident in their abilities.
“With inclusivity as the guiding principle, the decision to evolve our brand was woven with care and consideration,” Barb said. “The evolution of our brand is not just a visual change; it’s a reflection of our unwavering commitment to empowering all learners, regardless of age or background. As we embrace this transformation, we aim to communicate a message of resilience, adaptability, and inclusivity.”
